A bit about us

The club is located to the south west of Lincoln, the Club occupies

a lake of 180 acres affording great sailing

to both Casual & Racing sailors. There is an active Windsurfing

section and a thriving Model Boating Section. Affiliated to the RYA,

the Club is also used by the Lincoln & District Schools Sailing

Association which is an RYA Recognised Sail Training establishment.

Sailing

Racing takes place on Sundays from the end of March to

Boxing Day. A Summer Series operates on Wednesday evenings May to

September.

Sunday racing starts at 11.30 which is a single start

Handicap race followed by two Class races, commonly Laser, Enterprise & Handicap (i.e. everything else!)

The Wednesday Summer series is a single start Handicap

race lasting about an hour and followed by a drink at the bar - not

compulsory but rounds off the evening!

The Club has developed its Junior Sailing Section

which now has Toppers &  RS Tera to assist with the Club’s

policy of encouraging and supporting Youth Sailing.

The Model Boating section organises a Race Programme on Sundays running from 9-11.30am.

History

The Club was formed in 1985 by the amalgamation of

Lindum SC and Rustons SC which had both occupied the water since the

early 1960’s but from separate premises. Rustons old Clubhouse is now

used by the Lincoln Scout Group. The pit owners Butterley Aggregates

granted  a Lease to the Club which is now being extended to 2027 by the

current owners CEMEX.

Clubhouse & Facilities

We now have a new Clubhouse erected October 2007 & a substantial decked area was completed in May 2008. The Clubhouse has a kitchen & bar which operates on

Race days, Wednesday evenings & various other Social events. We

serve hot & cold drinks,food & snacks.

Male and Female changing rooms have toilets &

showers.

Plenty of space & seating for ‘wet’ sailors to rest and a ‘dry’ lounge for spectators.

Our boat park has space for approx 150 boats.

Taster days

These are aimed at those who have never sailed before but think they might like it. It is an opportunity to try a new sport at a minimal

cost of £35 for adults. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an

adult but the cost is £15. It is an informal, though structured, day

with plenty of experienced sailors ready to answer questions and take

‘tastees’ out onto the water. A buffet lunch is provided. Booking is essential

The 2008 Taster Day Series were great fun for all those involved.

Those club members who helped out enjoyed themselves as did all the

‘tastees’.
