RYA Sailing Courses
During the course of the year, a number of events are planned at Hykeham sailing club aimed at introducing and teaching people to sail.
If you are unsure whether sailing is likely to be for you. There are 2 ‘Taster’ events planned for 2012 on the 19th May and the 19th August. For a nominal charge, anyone who would like to try sailing can come down to the club and will be taken out sailing by experienced club members in a variety of boats.
For those who have already made their mind up that they want to learn to sail. The club offers, in conjunction with the LDSA, both RYA level 1 & 2. The level 1 course is aimed at people who have little or no former sailing experience. The RYA level 2 course is aimed at taking people on from the level 1 course to a level where they are competent to sail unsupervised in moderate wind conditions.
Level 1 sailing courses will take place on
- 2/3 June.
- 1/2 Sept.
Level 2 sailing courses will take place on
- 9/10 June.
- 8/9 Sept.
On completion of the course, participants will have a nationally recognised sailing qualification of their sailing competence.
